Captain, Owner & Operator
Hello, my name is Captain Chris Cameron the proud owner & operator of Fired Up Fishing Charters out of Port Canaveral in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Most people interested in booking a Deep Sea Fishing or Shark Fishing Cocoa Beach trip want to get a good overview of the captains, the vessels they will be on, recent fishing catches and a little bit about the business. Here is a little bio about myself & how my fishing adventures begun. I was born in June 1976 in a small town on the south shore of Long Island called Seaford, New York. Some of the best memories I had growing up was fishing with my father & grandfather and them teaching me the ropes along the way. Rain or shine, day or night and even at times in the snow you could always find me… fishing. If my parents were looking for me they always knew where they could find me on my homemade platform attached to one of the bridges on the waterway leading out to the Atlantic with a fishing pole in hand. I had a great mom that would even bring me a cup of hot chocolate to stay warm on those colder nights in New York. One of my first jobs while I was still in school was at the local bait shop. This was a great job for me since I needed to earn some extra money & what better way than to do something I had a passion for which was fishing!! I was able to connect with the local fishermen in town and get the inside scoop on where to find the fish that were biting, what they were using to catch the fish and I would share with them some of my honey holes fishing spots as well. I learned so much about fishing, tackle, various baits/lures to use for different types of fish, all sorts of fishing knots, terminology and knowledge that I still use to this day. After graduating high school I thought to myself, Hmmm what next… What would I want to do with my life? It was not too hard of a decision for me because I’ve had such a deep passion for my country since I was young. It quickly became a no-brainer… I would join the United States Navy so I could give back and serve like so many others before me. I got to do something so rewarding while being around the water all at the same time it really was a win-win for me. I was an 18 year old kid eager to grow up and evolve into a respectable man and was ready for whatever was put in my path. I ended up being in the Navy for eight years I enjoyed it so much I trained as an Aviation Mechanic and was assigned to various ships and aircraft carriers while fulfilling my dreams of being able to travel all over the world. I was able to fish when we were at different ports or while away on leave. After I fulfilled my 8 years in the Navy I moved to Orlando, Florida where I began fishing the waters of along the East Coast mostly in the Port Canaveral & Cocoa Beach area. My goal since I was young was to be a professional fishermen and I once I set my mind to something nothing can stop me. I started out as a mate on one of the top offshore fishing boats in Cape Canaveral and did that for a few years and gained a wealth of knowledge which helped prepare me for my Coast Guard Captain’s license which I’ve had for the last 20 years. In between being on the water I decided to become a full time Firefighter/Paramedic with a local Fire Department, a career I love and find so rewarding by helping others not to mention it’s a great schedule working 24 hours on shift & 48 hours off which gives me plenty of time for fishing. I formed Fired Up Fishing Charters in 2007 and over the last 13 years we’ve managed to grow considerably each year by having so many repeat charter guests by gaining their trust and respect by showing them exceptional customer service while putting them on fish to create an overall Epic Fishing Experience. I feel blessed to have a winning team stand behind me with some of the most awesome friendly, knowledgably fishing captains you could ask for. In June 2009 my first son, Cash, was born and in 2019 my second son, Kai, was born. In 2015 I found and fell in love with Jennifer. She has been a blessing to me and the family and an unbelievable mom so far. Cash enjoys fishing too just as I did when I was a kid and I love being able to teach him the ropes at an early age just like my father did for me. This sums me up in a nutshell …. I’ve truly been blessed with a great life, a wonderful family and doing the things I love most in life. I look forward to being able to have you as Fired Up Charter customer and building a relationship and as I do with so many of my other charter guests.

ZACH "DUDE" SHEDD
I am a 100 ton master Captain who recently came here from Hilton Head SC. I started off fishing at a young age on freshwater ponds and surf casting at the beach when I wasn’t surfing or skateboarding. When i was 20 years old I moved to Nashville TN on my own to pursue a career in music. During my years there I kayaked, canoed and eventually bought a bass boat. When I was taking a break from traveling all over the world all I would do is bass fish and catfish in the grand water ways middle Tennessee had to offer for weeks at a time. I camped,on the islands and lived off my catch as often as i could.I was in several bass and hunting clubs there where I honed in my skills that eventually led me to taking my friends on very successful fishing trips. I thoroughly enjoyed putting them on big fish, their biggest fish of their lives and coming home with a cooler full of meat . it made me happy to show my love for the sport and the outdoors to new people and teach them skills and appreciations they never knew they had. and At this point I decided I wanted to use these skills as a career . not long after my son was born we decided a new life meant we needed a new change in scenery and my urge for the saltwater again grew each day. A friend of mine inherited his fathers seafood business and needed help so we moved to the low county coast of SC. For years I was on the water everyday commercial fishing for shellfish, blue crabs, stone crabs, sharks and shrimp. After a crewing over a thousand days on the water I went ahead and took my USCG tests and got my captain credentials. I hit the ground running. I started out doing inshore trips as often as I could for a local guide services as well as nature and dolphin tours. My years in the estuaries there gave me the knowledge to perform these tasks with optimal performance. I started working offshore trips soon after as well as working for the local towboat rescue boats all the while still commercial fishing throughout the different seasons. 365 on the water sun up to sun down. With the recent birth of my daughter and my sights pointed further south, we moved to the space coast for bigger and better opportunities in my fields, as well as sharing my kids lives with their. Resident grandparents. I plan on continuing my growth and love for all things water here., gaining new skills and using my stellar customer service skills, boat knowledge, my love for making people happy and sharing our wonderful great outdoors with new smiling faces everyday. I bring a lot to the table and I cant wait to take you fishing.
Barrett "Bear" Bright
Capt Bear has been fishing Canaveral since a little guy. He has roughly every trick up his sleeve. he comes from a long line of Canaveral fisherman. Capt Bear and Capt Billy, his dad, have been instrumental in the Fired Up Charters family. Not only a fine fisherman but mechanically far ahead of many and when a storm rips a boat from the docks, He can rebuild the boat!! I personally owe both these guys a huge thank you and I never say no to them. If one thing Bear can do is catch fish and do a great job keeping people happy. He’s a family man and great with the kids. He has a passion for the ocean. he has been chartering for Fired Up over 10 years and we look forward to many more. Bear has been a Brevard County police officer for almost 25 years and not much he has not seen. I hope we can provide him all the charters he wants when he decides to enjoy the “good life” Thank you Bear!!!! Chris-
Captain Arron is one hell of a kid! I say kid but he’s close to 30. You can tell the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. He is Capt Tylers “little” brother, Coming in at 6’6″. lol. He is one hell of a worker and never says no or I need a break. Just a hard charger and ready to roll. Currently Arron is a full time tug boat operator in Port Canaveral. He’s working on some big credentials. From a master tonnage captain and ship engineer. When he’s not navigating Port Canaveral, bringing in super tankers and cruise ships he’s got you and your family taken care of. We are fortunate to have him part of the family. He also has been fishing since he was a little man. Him and his brother were always fishing. To have this duo part of the family is an honor. Nothing I would not do for them. Capt Arron has been fishing with us over 5 years easy now and we hope many more. His schedule on Tug Life is a week on and a week off and he gives us every minute of his time while “off”. So he’s basically always working. We love it but i’m sure his girlfriend doesn’t agree. lol Arron is a great asset to the Fired up Family. Thank you Arron, Chris-
Eric "GULLY" Gullikson
Capt Gully has lived in Titusville his whole life and grew up fishing the intercostal waters of the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon fishing with his dad. Gully began offshore fishing when he was 10 and began working as a deck hand when he was 16. Capt. Gully began working for Fired Up Charter 8 years ago. Gully is one hell of a fisherman and a true down to earth good person. He comes from a great family of 5 kids and you can tell he was raised right. He’s a hard worker and loves to show people a good time on the water. Capt Gully has a real passion for the water and everything the area has to offer. From riding around in the swamp gigging frogs and bowfishing tilapia to deep dropping for grouper in 700 ft of water. Capt. Gully loves it all. A few years ago Gully went into the Fire Department and took a break from
charter fishing for a little. Needless to say we are happy he is back working with us. When Gully’s not hard charging the community on the firetruck helping people, hes busy on the boats helping make lasting memories for you! As you know I am a 20 year Fire Fighter and honored to have Gully as part of the family. The running joke is the more pizza he east the more 6 pack abs he gets. We always tell him to keep his shirt on around our wives, No need to clean the boat with no shirt on Gully!! LOL LOL We hope you love Gully as much as we do. Chris-
Running this business while working a full time job has been a challenge. Answering the phones and customer service in general is another full time job. Customer service to me is #1 and without it the business will fail. So when help was needed, Who better to ask than family. Mom/Mrs C has been instrumental these last few years in keeping the captains informed as well as the customers. She has followed my fishing passion and journey all my life so I know she gets it. She’s on point with the customer service as many of you know, lol. And believe me…EVERY time you mention her name on the 5 star reviews,,,,,, I hear it for days, lol lol. So if its not me on the phone you’ll get mommy. lol lol. Honestly whoever answers the phone or text, know it will be immediately!!
